These are a few chunks of tea I was going to use in my storage experiments.

Didn’t even make it that far. Today, 28 days later, I was going to check the generated RH with a hygrometer, but I noticed this mold (along with its slightly minty smell) and called it off.
This is my first time encountering visible mold. I feel oddly triumphant, as finding mold in one’s puer collection for the first time is sort of like a right of passage, though not one that anyone in their right mind would look forward to. Anyhow, I’m obviously somewhat disappointed because it doesn’t seem at all plausible to safely apply such a high humidity. At least not in a sealed environment, and not at this temperature.
